Get out of your need and the real seller, then look for a discount that fits your cart. The right result is an acceptable total for a useful product, not a code that pushes you to add unnecessary items.
A simple search order
Identify the seller and the basket
Note the official domain, product reference, country of delivery and total without code. On a marketplace, identify the seller of each line in the basket: a platform coupon may exclude certain sellers or categories.
Watch the offers of the official website
See banners, promotion pages, help page and the conditions displayed in the basket. An automatic discount, a free delivery or a lot price can already be applied. Do not assume that an additional discount will be cumulated.
Check newsletter and loyalty if they interest you
Some merchants offer benefits of welcome or loyalty, but their presence and conditions must be confirmed. Before registering, look at the type of customer concerned, the minimum purchase and use of your email address. A subscription to a newsletter is not required for any promotion.
Compare multiple external sources
Look for the exact name of the dealer and his domain in the promo code sites. Look at the date, recent comments and conditions related to each publication. The number of offers displayed or a "tested" mention does not guarantee that your cart will be eligible.
Read the conditions before copying
Control the territory, the end time if indicated, the minimum purchase, the excluded brands, the sold products, the delivery costs and the customer profile. Some benefits are reserved for an application, a connected account or a first order.
Test the basket and compare the total
Copy the code without additional space, then check the merchant's message and summary. Look at the total with delivery, options and possible fees. An apparent validation of the field is not enough: the discount must be visible and the final payment must match your decision.
Keep relevant information
Keep the terms of the offer, the summary and the order confirmation if you purchase. These elements can help to include an absent discount or a partial refund. The processing of a return and the terms of a gift card remain the seller's.
Why is a promo code refused?
Client, channel or territory
A welcome benefit may be reserved for a first order. An application code or another country may not be accepted on the site used.
Date or quota
The publication may be old, the quota reached or the offer completed. A recent date for updating the code site does not prove an extension of the promotion.
Seizure or cumulation
Remove the spaces added, check the characters and remove another coupon if the conditions prohibit cumulation. Do not multiply random tests to circumvent the merchant's rules.
If the refusal remains unexplained, consult the seller's help by giving the code, reference and conditions displayed. You can also drop the code and compare the offer without discount to that of another seller.
Promo code and cashback: check cumulation
An immediate discount and a deferred refund follow two different paths. Cashback service may require activation and exclude certain external codes. Confirm the cumulation rules before choosing your course; an estimate or amount pending is not a permanently acquired gain.
